Jim Caviezel

James Patrick Caviezel was born September 26, 1968 in Mount Vernon, Washington.

From childhood, he dreamed of playing in the NBA. He played high school and college basketball but a foot injury in his sophomore year put an end to Jim’s professional basketball aspirations.

Shortly after, he turned his focus towards acting and moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a waiter between auditions.  He landed small roles in films such as Diggstown and Wyatt Earp and TV roles in “Wonder Years” and “Murder She Wrote”.

His breakout role came when he received critical recognition for his portrayal of Private Witt in The Thin Red Line. Other films for which he is known include Angel Eyes, High Crimes, Déjà Vu, Infidel, The Count of Monte Cristo and the television crime drama “Person of Interest” which was one of the highest rated shows on television and is currently still in syndication.

Jim’s most recent role was that of Tim Ballard in the blockbuster 2023 hit Sound of Freedom. With over $250 million wordwide box office plus tens of millions in streaming revenue, the movie is one of the most successful independent films in history outperforming major franchise studio films such as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Jim’s most significant role was the portrayal of Jesus in Passion of the Christ. The movie made headlines and broke box-office records around the world, becoming one of the highest grossing films of all time while Jim’s performance was acclaimed by both critics and viewers alike. The sequel to Passion will be one of Jim’s next projects.

Aside from his prolific acting career, Jim continues to promote his love of God, family, and country and supports various charities focused on serving and protecting women, children, families and the unborn. A devout Catholic, Jim is a well-known speaker for religious and philanthropic groups throughout the country.

Jim and wife Kerri have 3 adopted children and reside in California.
