Colorado and 22 other states prohibit counselors from encouraging clients to “change behaviors or gender expressions or to eliminate or reduce sexual or romantic attraction” toward members of the same sex. They can, however, encourage the opposite. Kaley Chiles, a licensed professional counselor, is suing Colorado, and her case was recently taken up by The U.S. Supreme Court.
