When we determine we know better than God how to run our own life, how does this impact our life when it comes to fertility? For Christians who love and follow Jesus, birth control seems like a normal option in married life and family planning. Most Christians don’t discuss birth control or pay attention to how it actually works. Pastors mention it to couples in pre-marriage counseling, intending to help couples get a good start, postponing children. Birth control has an interesting history, and it includes a desire for some to control their fertility outside of God’s plan for human flourishing.
